The SIM Free Samsung Pixon mobile phone is unlocked to all UK network operators, this means that regardless of whether a consumer is using a contract or pay as you go SIM card they will be able to use this new high specification mobile phone.
Originally launched on O2 and T-Mobile pay monthly tariffs and more recently on Orange contract the Samsung M8800 Pixon has now finally been released SIM Free allowing consumers to simply purchase the phone outright and continue using their existing SIM card to retain their current mobile number, account details and any saved contacts.
The Samsung Pixon offers one of the most sophisticated built-in cameras available in a mobile phone, not only can it capture pictures using an high specification 8 megapixel lens but it also features an inbuilt face detection feature which pinpoints faces for optimal portraits, whilst Smileshot amazingly detects when someone is smiling, ensuring that the Samsung Pixon gets the best possible shot.
Other features from this advanced camera include ASR (advaned shake reduction) which eliminates camera shake and with WDR (wide dynamic range) the brightness of the image will be adjusted automatically. The 8 megapixel lense is further complimented by a hefty 16x digital zoom, a dual power LED flash and auto-focus.
Users can browse and sort through their pictures using the large 3.2" 262k colour TFT full touchscreen by face, time, colour or file name, or even by tilting or flipping the Samsing M8800 Pixon in their hand. To further compliment a substantial 200MB internal memory there is also the option of a microSd memory card slot which accepts cards of up to 32MB in capacity.
You may think that with all this technology the Samsung Pixon must be quite a bulky phone, well surprisingly it measures just 13.2mm thin and weighs only 122 grams, the 3G and Bluetooth equipped Samsung Pixon packs a lot of the latest technology into it's small frame including a MPEG4/H.263/H.264/WMV/DivX video player with 120fps in QVGA mode.
Away from the camera features the Samsung Pixon also offers a whole host of other features found in many of the latest mobile phones, these include allowing users to store their favourite tracks in MP3 or other advanced music formats in the Samsung Pixon's music library then listen to them or the in-built FM radio with 3D sound technology.
The Samsung M8800 Pixon is a great all-round performer and which will pleasantly suprise with it's ample battery life of up to 430 minutes of talktime and 310 hours of standby time. This more a camera with a phone attached than a camera phone and should win the hearts of many budding and keen photographers alike.
The Samsung Pixon faces competition from other manufacturers models aswell as Samsung own i8510, the Sony Ericsson C905, LG Renoir and LG KC780 all offer 8 megapixel cameras but the Samsung Pixon wins hands down on overall dimensions.
